- New visiting student agreement written, approved by General Council, and sent to Zhejiang Normal University in China to bring 20 undergraduate students to campus each year for studies. Students will pay full tuition and fees and will live on campus housing while participating in the KU meal plan. Students will be from a variety of disciplines and will study at KU for a semester or academic year.
- Arrangements finalized to visit 15 high schools in India between 2/6 and 2/13 to recruit students to KU. Charles Bankart will be conducting the visit and following up with current Indian applicants to enhance our yield from applicants who have been admitted.
- Research begun on international undergraduate and graduate student choice and the identification of key factors in the recruitment of international students to KU. Includes a new partnership with Graduate Studies to identify the departments that have rising application numbers without a commensurate increase in admits so that February discussions with departments can be started.
- Identified two groups of international applicants to KU for targeted outreach for increasing yield. Both groups lack the TOEFL score needed to be considered for full admission to KU, but are academically admissible after taking the AEC proficiency exam.
