Enrollment (Domestic)
Recruitment: strengthen pipeline through more aggressive funnel management (FYR/TR)
- Invitations emailed to prospective students for Preview KU events
- Phone calls to students invited to upcoming events
- Visit postcard sent to high school juniors, seniors and transfer students
Retention Management: increase first-year rate to 90%, six-year graduation to 70%
- Federal Work Study Open Request
- Email to current students who are not enrolled in sufficient hours for awarded aid, reminding them of steps to take to ensure aid is available when expected
- Email to students with outstanding balances and have not yet filed a current year FAFSA, reminding them financial aid may be available, with steps to file the FAFSA
- Robo calls to all students who have incomplete Fin Aid files, reminding them to complete before the September bill due date
Technology: establish systems and structures necessary to achieve enrollment results

Yield Management: solidify/improve yield rate from admit to enrolled

Enrollment (International)
Recruitment: enhance Unit’s planning and accountability
- The newly-revised IRUA online application went live for all 2015 semesters. This fulfilled the mandate to centralize, streamline and simplify the international undergraduate admissions process. International undergraduates from the following admit types can now apply online using same form: Freshman, Transfer, Readmit, AEC non-degree, applicants from KU Office of Study Abroad partner institutions, non-degree visiting students and non-degree adult students.
- Communications from the CollegeNet ADMIT system and Hobsons CRM have been updated to facilitate immediate response to applicants.
- IRUA recruitment and admissions staff assisted with ISS New Student Orientation to greet the international undergraduates our office admitted for Fall 2014 semester.
International Partnerships: establish collaborations and articulation agreements
- In collaboration with KU’s Shorelight, LLC partner, IRUA admitted a total of 61 new freshmen & transfer students: 29 to the new KU Academic Accelerator Program and 32 as pre-KUAAP students. It is predicted that 57 will matriculate for Fall 2014 semester. 55 reported to campus during ISS Orientation.
Visiting Student Programs: develop and implement
- OIP’s Sponsored/Visiting Student Coordinator met with newly-arrived visiting and sponsored students during ISS Orientation.
Traditional Recruitment Activities: increase and diversify investments
- IRUA recruitment staff organized one general KU webinar and participated in CollegeWeekLive International Students Day virtual fair with live video presentations targeting international undergraduate prospects & inquiries worldwide. Over 400 prospective students reached.
- IRUA recruitment staff met with numerous individual international students, their families, and Jayhawk promoters in individual campus visits.
