Enrollment (Domestic)

Recruitmentstrengthen pipeline through more aggressive funnel management (FYR/TR)

  • Collaboration with Marketing Communications on FA15 recruitment publications

Retention Managementincrease first-year rate to 90%, six-year graduation to 70%

  • Distribution of emails to continuing students with renewable scholarships, advising of funding source of scholarships for 2014-15 and reminder of renewal criteria and academic support available to ensure success

Technologyestablish systems and structures necessary to achieve enrollment results

  • Collaboration between FAS, SIS and IT to install Oracle fixes to ensure compliance with new SULA federal student loan regulations
  • User Interface improvements being tested for transfer credit system

Yield Managementsolidify/improve yield rate from admit to enrolled

  • FAS Robo-calls to Orientation registrants 2-3 weeks prior to their scheduled Orientation to remind them to submit any needed documents to complete their financial aid files before coming to Orientation to ensure file is complete when they arrive
  • Conduct Orientation “Taking Care of Business” and "Financial Aid Help Room" sessions

Recruitmentenhance Unit’s planning and accountability

  • As of June 30, IRUA has admitted international undergraduates in each of these categories for Summer/Fall 2014:
    • 9   Visiting students
    • 18  Readmits
    • 72  KU Office of Study Abroad applicants
    • 103 Transfer
    • 107 Special visiting students from partner institutions
    • 138 AEC non-degree seeking
    • 518 Freshman
    • 965  Total

International Partnershipsestablish collaborations and articulation agreements

  • 26 of the Freshmen & Transfer admissions were facilitated through the KU-Shorelight partnership; 16 of those for the new KU Academic Accelerator Program
  • IRUA Admissions team trained the Shorelight Boston Admissions team in the KU international undergraduate admissions process

Visiting Student Programsdevelop and implement

  • A total of 103 Special visiting students from partnership institutions and programs have been admitted.  75 of those are from the Brazil Science Mobility Program

Traditional Recruitment Activitiesincrease and diversify investments

  • Final email messages from the CRM were delivered to admitted students, and IRUA Communication Coordinator worked with ISS to deliver messaging about the ISS Orientation Program, You at KU
  • Planning for the late summer & early fall recruitment trips was finalized
