Progress made this reporting period:

  • The final activity list for the SSC has been approved by the Design review Committee. This list represents the activities that will move from the units to the SSC. As the implementation continues, the activities will continue to be evaluated, with changes being made based on lessons learned.   • The LAS-SSC Leadership Team has spent the past month meeting with department chairs and program directors involved in Wave 1, reviewing transaction data and considering staff preferences to establish the staffing for this first shared service center. The staff members who will transition as part of Wave 1 have been identified; these staff members will provide finance and HR support for departments and programs in Wave 1 (the Humanities Division, the School of the Arts and the Honors Program):

    • Dana Ingkatanuwat, Finance (from Theatre)
    • Christina Ruiz, Finance (from Ermal Garinger Academic Resource Center)
    • Timothy Spencer, Finance (from Slavic Languages & Literatures)
  • The transition planning for the future waves of the College will continue as the Wave 1 units begin to be served by the LAS-SSC. It is anticipated that the order of transition and approximate target dates are as follows:
    • Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Hall Center for the Humanities and IPSR - July 2013
    • Division of International and Interdisciplinary Programs and College Administration - November 2013
    • Division of Natural Sciences and Math - December 2013
  • Karla Williams, LAS-SSC Director, continues to meet with Chairs and Directors to build relationships with the departments that she and her team will be working for.
