Progress made this reporting period:

KU’s Research Caliberstrengthen skills and retain top performers

  • This project is complete, but progress will continue to be tracked.
  • Advanced Excel Training for Research Staff on January 22nd. Over 20 staff participated in training provided by IT around advanced skills in Excel.
  • Held quarterly grant coordinators meeting (86 attendees).

Pursue System Improvements:  implement tools that increase faculty and administrative efficiency; collaborate with KUMC where feasible

  • Implemented Communication Management workflow in Image Now to expedite research administration notifications to all units, especially improving efficiency around the initial entry of actions to be processed by Award Processing Services (APS).
  • Continued ecrt implementation process with IT, HR, and Huron Consulting.

KUCR Efficiencystrengthen operations, processes, and overall effectiveness

  • This project is complete, but progress will continue to be tracked.
  • Continued training on use of Tableau dashboards for post-award staff and management.
