Library Annex: explore other revenue or usage options

  • No current updates

Library Staffing and Key Services: strategically reassess efficiency levels

  • A new organizational review team is now underway and meeting twice a month. The team will assess the current organizational structure, identify major functions therein, and make recommendations for an organizational structure, with the goal of positioning the library organization and staff for the future.

Cross-campus Libraries: collaborate and/or consolidate across all campuses

  • The KU Libraries Cataloging Department has begun the first of a series of training sessions to introduce cataloging staff to Resource, Discovery and Access (RDA), the new international cataloging code being implemented by libraries around the world. This training will be provided to the KU Libraries' staff along with staff from the Wheat Law Library and Dykes Library at the KU Medical Center.

Fines and Fees: update policies

  • At KU, the current fine rate for overdue inter-library loan materials is $1 per day, which is less than most of our peer institutions. A team is currently exploring options that would allow us to raise the rate to $2 or $3 per day.
