Enrollment (Domestic)

Recruitmentstrengthen pipeline through more aggressive funnel management (FYR/TR)

  • Finalize FA16 Recruitment Publications (Become a Jayhawk and Transfer Pub)
  • Invitations emailed to prospective students for Rock Chalk Roadshow, Senior Days and Jayhawk Days
  • Admission Rep intro emails to inquiries and parents sent
  • Journalism, Honors, and Design all sent emails to 2015 inquiries in July and encouraged applications

Retention Managementincrease first-year rate to 90%, six-year graduation to 70%

  • Finalize Scholarship Posting and Award Packaging received to-date prior to first Fall 2015 bills, including all RSS scholarship fund switching
  • Emails/Self-Service notification to all students who need to complete MPN and/or Loan Entrance Counseling
  • Robo calls to all students who have incomplete Fin Aid files, reminding them to complete before the September bill due date

Enrollment (International)

  • In collaboration with KU’s Shorelight, LLC partner, IRUA admitted a total of 61 new freshmen & transfer students:  29 to the new KU Academic Accelerator Program and 32 as pre-KUAAP students. Based on visa issuance reports, Shorelight predicts a minimum of 50 will matriculate for Fall semester.
  • IRUA recruitment staff is working in collaboration with Marketing & Communications to launch a revised admissions webpage reflecting the consolidation of online application processing for international undergraduate of all admission types through IRUA.
  • Testing of revised application for admission occurred with CollegeNet.  Opening of the new application in August will facilitate streamlined processing of international undergraduate applicants of all admission types.

Visiting Student Programsdevelop and implement

  • No new activity

Traditional Recruitment Activitiesincrease and diversify investments

  • Between September 18- August 4, IRUA Recruiter, Shannon O’Hagan, visited 5 Indian cities, visiting 30 local high schools, participating in 5 receptions and returning with over 1,200 contact cards for prospective Indian students.
  • Over 350 new international undergraduates pre-registered for the mandatory ISS International Student Orientation Program--a record number in the history of KU.
  • IRUA purchased 6119 names from CollegeBoard of prospective international undergraduate students registered to take the TOEFL test. These were loaded into the Hobsons CRM for communication distribution.
